As June arrives, the Doyama and Kamiyama areas of Osaka are welcoming more visitors from Japan and around the world.
We’re seeing international travelers, people returning to Doyama after many years, and newcomers looking to connect with the LGBTQ community for the first time.
At Amrita, a lesbian-friendly café and bar in Osaka’s Doyama district, we’ve been meeting many first-time guests who found us through social media, as well as familiar faces returning to the neighborhood after a long absence. These encounters create the warm and unique atmosphere that makes Doyama special.
Visiting an LGBTQ venue for the first time can feel intimidating, but Amrita is committed to creating a welcoming space where everyone can feel comfortable, whether you’re visiting alone or with friends. If you’re looking to make new connections in Osaka’s LGBTQ community, we’d love to meet you.
June is a season of new beginnings, reunions, and community in Doyama. Amrita will continue to be a safe and welcoming place for lesbians and the wider LGBTQ community.
